Tony Jantzer of the Icicle and Peshastin irrigation districts discusses his challenges.
In an interview with the editor-in-chief of Irrigation Leader magazine, Tony Jantzer, secretary-manager of the Icicle and Peshastin irrigation districts, details some of the challenges these two districts experience because of the Cascades terrain where they source their water.
Jantzer also describes the emergency he faced after the Jack Creek fire burned much of the watershed upstream from the aging dam on Eightmile Lake.
The article does not touch on current controversies, but it offers an overall excellent description of the general issues facing the irrigation districts. It is good background reading.
